Irish Anzacs database is back

The Irish Anzacs database is again available online. Launched in 2014 the database was originally hosted at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Repository (FASS Repository), which ceased operation in July 2020.

Attempts to find an alternative institutional host have been unsuccessful. Hence the decision to set up my own website to provide access to the database as well as to general information on the Irish Anzacs and on the relationship between Australia and Ireland during the First World War.… Read the rest

Irish Anzacs Project

IAP Logo 3The Irish Anzacs Project is a significant research undertaking of the Global Irish Studies Centre (now called Irish Studies at UNSW), made possible by a grant from the Irish government’s Emigrant Support Program. The project aims to identify all Irish-born enlistments in the Australian Imperial Force during the First World War, or as close to all as is practicable, and to compile a publicly accessible database containing information on each of them.Read the rest
